Ferried to Nepal by the Gurkas

The evening of Wednesday 30th August saw eighteen members and guests assemble at The Ferry pub/restaurant at Thames Ditton for a Summer Dinner.

Ably organised by Martin and Heather Schollar and our hard working secretary John Siviter, we were treated to a wonderful Nepalese meal with excellent wine and great company.

All those attending were so well looked after by the enthusiastic and attentive staff and reminded of the important and lasting links with Nepal by all the pictures celebrating those many and distinguished Gurkas who had won VC's in the service of the UK over many years, which hang on the walls . A humbling tribute to some special people.
